Lynne McNamara

Paths Not Paved

When you read Paths Not Paved, a debut collection of poems written as stories easily understood, you will find yourself immersed in the language and the rhythms of the everyday and the occasional, of love and life challenges, of art and nature. Lynne McNamara takes you on life journeys here and there, in the mind and real time, around the world and right at home.

Throughout this poetry collection, you will see familiar examples of humanity expressed in your own day to day living. Yearning for More, Fleeting Mortality, and Trusting Truths--are sections of the book that invite you to reflect on passing events of your life. This book of poetry is filled with descriptions and moments of reflection that parallel your own, bring you into the written words on the page that keep you involved. You can walk down the path or be part of the scene in this collection of feelings and wonderment.

As well-known poet Diane Glancy observes in her review, "Lynne McNamara’s poetry collection...is marked with craft...these poems have been cultivated...Her work makes a lovely terrain. McNamara finds the courage to speak her experiences as she finds them, 'urging spirits to sprint high / succumb to fascinating black holes / non-existent except as we create.' O yes. Nice work."
