ARTIST STATEMENT

Sometimes my artistic style is a slow rocky road with a few wonderful small delights along the way. Sometimes my art is fast a fabulous creation. Other times my artwork has missed the mark. After giving it a rest, it is recycled as a foundation to build a more contemporary piece from what comes to mind at the time I begin again anew. Weekly, Erna paints in oils or watercolor plein-air at our local open space parks and nearby mountain vistas. Occasionally, Erna teaches art in her studio and at the Louisville Art Association.
