ARTIST STATEMENT Creating an emotional response in the viewer is what I wish to accomplish in my art. Oil painting is a wonderful way to put the beauty of my surroundings onto canvas. I enjoy sharing my vision of the natural world and its marvels, through my paintings. Knowledge and technique join with emotion to capture the essence of a scene. Colorado’s scenic mountains and vast plains are inspiring, and I love to be outside and paint on location where the breezes and wildlife and changing clouds all add to the atmosphere and aid in artistic creation. My subjects vary from mountain landscapes to flowers, to European towns and cities, as well as figures and portraits. Here is a short summary of shows and awards:
