Some Dogs are Different is the true story of four dogs that have special needs. It features Murphy, who has three legs; Stevie, who is blind; Peppermint Patty, who is deaf; and Habs, who uses wheels to get around. The book introduces each dog, talks about what makes them different, and shows that their differences don’t stop them from trying anything. Some Dogs are Different is a great conversation starter for parents and children, showing that we all belong, should always be kind and never give up. After the reading everyone will have a chance to meet Murphy, who used to be a therapy dog at Brookdale Nursing Home.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Michelle Pendergrass is originally from Madison, WI. She moved to beautiful Colorado in 1994 and enjoys life with her husband, two boys and two dogs. Aside from writing about dogs, Michelle worked with animals for 13 years at a local veterinary hospital and currently owns a dog walking business, helping busy families keep their canines active. Some Dogs are Different is Michelle’s first children’s book and she hopes it can spread positive messages and bring a smile to the little faces that read it.
