As the growing season ends and Thanksgiving approaches, Kayann Short, Ph.D., will reflect on gratitude for food, land, and the relationships they foster between humans and the natural world. Dr. Short is a writer, farmer, teacher, and activist at Stonebridge Farm, the first community-supported farm in Boulder County. Her memoir, A Bushel’s Worth: An Ecobiography (Torrey House Press) was a Nautilus “Better Books for a Better World” winner. Her work has appeared in Midwest Review, Hawk & Handsaw, The Hopper, Pilgrimage, Dash, Genders, Mad River Review, and the anthologies, Dirt: A Love Story and Rooted: The Best New Arboreal Non-Fiction.
